Why is Plagiarism not a good practice?

Plagiarism is not a good practice because it can be considered as stealing and fraud because in the process you mislead people by giving incorrect information about the original owner of the content or idea by taking it as your own. Plagiarism is a serious problem that has a huge impact globally and now affecting so many people, website owners, educational institutions, and company owners.

Just like theft, the penalties for plagiarism has become austere all over the world because this is the only way to stop this wrong practice. But, another problem is that many people are not even aware of what they are doing is not right, and they can be held liable because of this act of plagiarism.

By committing plagiarism, you don’t give yourself the chance to practice and develop the skills that may be necessary for your future endeavors. You don’t give yourself the chance to be given honest feedback on how you can enhance your abilities and performance. If you are an employee, this practice can make your superiors to question your credibility. If you are a student, you commit fraud by deceiving your teachers who are assessing your work. Also, you deny the original owner due credit for their work or idea. And in the process, you disregard other people who exerted hard work.
